Mindex
Your Thinking Style Profile
The Mindex Thinking Style Profile is an easy-to-use, self-scoring questionnaire, in booklet form, that enables a person to better understand his or her primary patterns of thought. Based on a combination of accepted theories of brain research and practical experience, the Mindex profile becomes a powerful tool for:

Self-understanding

Mindex Profile

Clearer thinking, problem solving, & decision making

Communicating more effectively
  Selling and persuading

Working better in teams
  Leading and managing

Personal & relationship counseling

Your thinking style is your characteristic way of processing information. It's the way you acquire your knowledge, organize your thoughts, form your views and opinions, apply your values, solve problems, make decisions, plan, and express yourself to others.

Mindex comes in the form of a complete, self-contained booklet with a 100-item questionnaire, scoring procedure, and explanation of Dr. Karl Albrecht's 4-style model of thinking styles. The clear explanations and simple, everyday language enable participants to understand the model very quickly, and especially to remember and apply it every single day — long after the workshop is over.

They learn to easily identify the four primary thinking patterns of Red Earth, Blue Earth, Red Sky, and Blue Sky in dealing with others. They also learn to adapt their communicative strategies to the thinking styles of others, becoming much more skilled in listening, presenting ideas, and persuading others. By appreciating your own unique way of organizing, processing, and expressing ideas, and by keeping in mind that other people may not think the way you do, you can get your ideas across to them much more effectively.

Mindex is an appreciative model that honors all ways of knowing. When people are aware of differences in thinking styles, they can communicate and work together more effectively, teams develop synergy, managers manage better, sales people sell better, and individuals have more satisfying personal, family, and love relationships.

Some Mindex users like to think of their mission as promoting "purple thinking," i.e. a versatile combination of all patterns, even though a person might have one favorite "home base" style. They invite their clients to strive to become "purple people."

Mindex is intended for use by people who work in the human development field - coaches, counselors, teachers, trainers, consultants. Formal credentials are less important for qualification than practical experience and seriousness of purpose. Once a qualified person takes the certification course and passes a brief exam, he or she can then acquire Mindex materials for professional use with clients. Certified users receive the Mindex Leader's Guide, which is a complete set of materials for administering the Mindex Profile, interpreting results, and conducting workshops. It has a set of PowerPoint slides, lesson plans, advice on interpreting profiles, and supporting data.
