About the SI Profile |
||||
|
The Social Intelligence Profile is an easy-to-use, self-scoring questionnaire, that enables a person to better understand his or her ability to get along well with others and to interact with them effectively in a variety of situations. SI is a combination of awareness of the feelings, needs and interests of others - sometimes
called your "social radar" - plus an attitude of generosity
and consideration, and a set of practical skills for interacting successfully
in various situations. SI is one of at least 6 distinct "intelligences"
or dimensions of human performance now recogonized by scientists
and educators. |

In today's world, the ability to connect with people is a crucial success skill. According to Dr. Karl Albrecht, |
||||
| "More people have lost jobs, friends, marriages and mates as a result of poor interpersonal skills than for all other reasons combined. The simple fact is that people who have a highly developed sense of social intelligence have more friends, better relationships, more successful careers and happier lives than those who lack those skills." | ||||
| Building your social intelligence starts with insight. All of us can benefit from an honest, open-minded, non-defensive self-assessment of the habits and patterns we use in getting along with others. The SI Profile (SIP) is a scientifically designed self-assessment tool that can give you a clear understanding of your strengths and developmental needs. | ||||
|
The SIP is simple and easy to use. It's a self-contained booklet, complete with questionnaire, scoring procedure, charts for displaying the results, and an extensive explanation of the principles and skills of SI. It typically takes about 15-20 minutes for a person to answer the questions and plot the scores. |
||||
| The SIP can be easily included in training programs, counseling activities, coaching activities, and in leadership development programs. Professional practitioners in the human development area can buy the special SIP Leader's Guide, which provides more in-depth explanations, training exercises, lesson plans, and useful presentation materials for conducting SI workshops. | ||||
